EU orders Apple to pay 13 billion euros in taxs

The European Union has said tech giant Apple must pay up to 13 billion euros in taxes that were not collected in Ireland. EU Competition Commissioner Margrethe Vestager noted that the company has received illegal tax benefits over the course of 11 years. This is the biggest fine ever ordered by the European Commission. Ireland disagreed with the ruling, and has indicated that it will appeal the decision.
