EU parliament approves deal on PNR

The European Parliament has voted to allow airlines to share passenger information with the EU, in an effort to better detect terrorists. The vote came after interior ministers from the 28 EU nations finally settled privacy concerns that had hobbled negotiations with the legislature since 2011. The Passenger Name Record system, or PNR, enables officials to detect patterns of suspicious behavior through sharing passenger data.
