A Eurockot Rockot successfully launched a Sentinel 3A Earth observation satellite for the European Space Agency and the European Commission, from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome in north-west Russia on Tuesday.
The Sentinel-3A will carry four different Earth observation instruments to measure sea surface topography, land surface temperature and ocean and land colour. The launch was delayed from October 31 and December 10 and was managed by the Lieutenant General Aleksandr Golovko. According to the Ministry of Defence, the operation was conducted successfully.
