When Li decided to board the train from Hekou city to Kunming, the capital of southwest China’s Yunnan Province, she only bought a single ticket for herself. Little did she know a surprise companion will join her along the road. The pregnant woman delivered her baby in the toilet of the moving train – a month before her due date. Two female passengers came to her aid as contractions began. Together with the train attendants, the team of unskilled but benevolent helpers managed to get the premature newborn to breathe and cut the umbilical cord. Both mother and baby were sent to a nearby hospital, and are reportedly in good health.
