Extradition treaty signed and ratified: Indian envoy to indonesia Gurjit Singh, Indian ambassador to Indonesia, today said that the extradition treaty between both the countries has been signed and ratified, regarding the case of the arrest of gangster Chhota Rajan. “Extradition treaty was signed sometime back and has been ratified,” he said. The ambassador added that the technicalities of the deportation or extradition would be decided through consultations between the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of External Affairs. Adding that the process of bringing back Rajan to India was in process, Ambassador Singh refused to give a time frame for the whole procedure. Underworld don Chhota Rajan was arrested in Bali by the Indonesian Police on a tip off from Australian authorities. He was travelling with the identity of Mohan Kumar with passport number G9273860 when he was apprehended at the airport, after arriving there on a Garuda Indonesia flight GA715.

Rajan is wanted in scores of criminal offences ranging from murder and extortion to smuggling and drug trafficking.
