Fans mark 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death

British poet and playwright William Shakespeare’s hometown of Stratford-upon-Avon in the UK came to a standstill, as it led global celebrations to mark 400 years since the playwright’s death. The occasion is being marked across the UK with parades, church services and stage performances. Shakespeare is believed to have died on April 23, 1616.
