Former president of Cuba Fidel Castro, who turns 90 in August, visited a local school on April 7 in Havana.
Public appearance has been rare for the revolutionist and country founder since he retired in 2006.

“I consider it a privilege for me to be in this school today, because this type of school used to be a kind of dream to me. I tried to remember if I knew a place like this before. The answer is no.”
During his appearance, Castro also participated in a homage to Vilma Espin, wife of his brother and current president of Cuba Raul Castro.
Vilma Espin died in 2007 and is considered one of the heroines of the Cuban Revolution.
