It came following a meeting of the soccer body’s Executive Committee.
They conducted a house search at FIFA headquarters and seized data.
According to the office of the attorney general of Switzerland, Blatter is suspected of making a quote “disloyal payment” of two million Swiss francs to Platini.
Platini is the head of the European football body UEFA.
There’s speculation that Blatter may face up to 10 years in jail if found guilty under Swiss law.
