A fighting robot has been one of the most popular displays at the fourth China Beijing International Fair for Trade in Services, where a variety of gadgets are on show to promote the development of robotics. The robot has rapid movement, can dodge, duck and dive, and is also capable of performing swift jabs and punches. It was designed and made by a Hong Kong team, and previously participated in many international robot combat contests.
The designer Keith Yung suggested students study robotics from a young age. He said children can play with the technology and learn how it works, understand the structure and the electronic components, and then assemble one for themselves. Many inventers hope that people attending the fair can exchange ideas and discuss cooperation, as they look to merge innovative elements from science, technology and culture.
