The Chinese government has donated 96 tons of medicine to Venezuela to help patients suffering from the effects of the Zika virus and Guillain-Barre syndrome. The shipment included therapy fluid and immunoglobulin G, used to hydrate patients and boost their immune systems. Hospitals in the Venezuelan capital Caracas have been struggling to provide vital health care services amid a severe economic crisis since February, with more than 5000 suspected Zika cases and three related deaths reported in the country.
