Filipino professor: Annual drill targets South China Sea dispute

The US and the Philippines on Monday kicked off their annual military exercises dubbed Balikatan, which literally means “shoulder-to-shoulder” in the Tagalog language. The military drill has drawn strong opposition in the Philippines. An assistant professor of De La Salle University said the exercise is specifically targeted at the ongoing territorial disputes in the South China Sea.
