Considered the equivalent of the Oscars for Chinese-language movies, The Golden Horse Awards ceremony was held late Saturday night in Taipei.
This year, the film “The Assassin” by Taiwanese director Hou Hsiao-hsien has grabbed five awards, including the best director and best feature film.
But the best leading actor award went to renowned Chinese mainland director Feng Xiaogang, for his performance in the film “Mr. Six”.
Another two mainland directors also scored awards of Golden Horse: Jia Zhangke won the best original screenplay award for his film “Mountains May Depart” while Pema Tseden won the best adapted screenplay award for his film “Tharlo”.
