A fire engulfed the 400-year-old ancient town of Yongxing in Meitan County in southwest China’s Guizhou Province on Sunday morning.
The fire, which last for more than 5 hours, destroyed 20 rooms in two buildings, part of them being ancient architecture. No casualties were reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Several ancient areas in China have been damaged or destroyed by fires in the last two years, including the famous 1,300-year-old ancient town of Dukezong in Shangri-la City, in southwest China’s Yunnan Province.
