Five killed, seven missing in rainstorms in Yunnan Province

Five people have been killed and seven are missing after rainstorms hit southwest China’s Yunnan Province. Severe rainfall triggered a spate of flooding and landslides in Zhaotong city, displacing over 3,400 people, destroying 27 houses, and affecting telecommunication and power and water supplies across the region. In Suijiang County, emergency personnel rescued 116 people stranded after a massive landslide blocked a highway.
