Policemen and maritime authorities worked together to rescue five fishermen trapped at sea after a severe rainstorm lashed east China’s Shandong Province on Thursday.
The police department of Dongying city had received two reports about a fishing boat carrying three fishermen which had ran aground four nautical miles from the coast, and another vessel with two crew members on board which had become entangled with the anchor chain of another returning fishing boat.
Law enforcers who were dispatched to the scene found themselves unable to carry out the rescue operation, and called a helicopter to help airlift the five stranded fishermen back to safety.
