Rescuers pulled a stranded SUV from the sea with the help of a crane in the city of Qingdao in east China’s Shandong Province on Sunday afternoon.
The SUV owner said that he had intended to test the vehicle’s off-road performance. The wheels unexpectedly sank into the sand and then rising seawater swallowed the vehicle. Local rescuers and fishermen dressed in waders approached the vehicle and reattached a towing strap. The other end of the strap was tied to the crane’s rope.
The crane finally pulled the SUV onto the beach and the vehicle was transported back to the city for repairs after about five hours of effort.
