A key intersection in the heart of southwest China’s Chengdu city was flooded on Friday after an underground water pipe burst, turning the broad road into a “river” and paralyzing traffic for hours. Workers from the local water supply company rushed to the site and eventually stemmed the flow. After three hours of intensive work, vehicles were able to use the road again.
