Dozens of visitors were knocked off their feet by a strong tidal bore along the Qiantang River on June 5, after a storm surge struck the Beauty Dam across the river in Hangzhou, east China’s Zhejiang Province. Onlookers watching the tidal surge sweep up the river were caught out by the force of the water, and swept off their feet while standing on the dam. Fortunately nobody was swept away by the tidal surge, due to fencing along the river’s banks.
