Footage: two ships hit bridge as river suddenly rises

Two abandoned catering ships ran into a bridge on Beijiang River in the city of Shaoguan in Guangdong Province, due to the rising level of the river after a rainstorm on Monday. Two anchored boats were seen floating down the river and crashed into the Beijiang Bridge. The two boats capsized soon after hitting the bridge. Since the two boats were abandoned for many years, there were no casualties. Local authorities have launched a safety assessment to the bridge after the collision. A video clip captured the thrilling moment of the ships’ collision with the bridge. Take a look!
