Former Egyptian President Morsi sentenced to 40 years in prison

Former Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi has been handed a life sentence of 40 years for leaking state secrets to Qatar, in which six of his defendants were sentenced to death. Morsi, who is 64 years old, was Egypt’s first democratically elected president, but was overthrown and detained by the army in 2013.
