Four killed and several injured after four blasts struck Saudi cities Jeddah, Qatif and Medina

Four Saudi security personnel were killed and five others injured in a suicide bombing Monday near the Prophet’s mosque in Medina, officials from the country’s interior ministry said. The attack took place as Muslim worshippers were gathering at the mosque – one of the holiest sites in Islam – for evening prayers. People were preparing to break fast as the explosion struck two days ahead of Eid al-Fitr, the festival to mark the end of the holy month of Ramadan. The blast was the fourth reported in Saudi Arabia on Monday, with two security personnel wounded in a first explosion at a hospital parking lot in Jeddah, after which dozens of worshippers escaped unhurt from two explosions near a mosque in Qatif.
