France upholds ban on Uber’s lowest-cost service

Executives for Uber in France were called to court in a criminal case involving the company’s UberPOP service. France’s highest court on Tuesday confirmed a ban on the controversial ride-sharing service, dismissing a constitutional appeal by the US company. France in January banned the low-cost service, which puts customers in touch with private chauffeurs at budget prices.
