G7 meeting calls for world without nuclear weapons

The foreign ministers of the countries that make up the Group of Seven, or the G7, have wrapped up their meeting in Japan and issued a statement about the progress made during their talks. Collectively, they called for a world without nuclear weapons. The foreign ministers also called on the world to “intensify and accelerate” the fight against the Islamic State group in Iraq and Syria. The diplomats visited the revered memorial to the victims of the 1945 Hiroshima bombing earlier on Monday.
