The G7 foreign ministers have released a joint statement after their two-day meeting in Hiroshima, Japan. According to Japan’s Kyodo News Agency, the ministers say in their statement on maritime security that they strongly oppose certain provocative actions in the South China Sea. The statement called for a peaceful solution to the disputes. It also expressed concerns over the situation in the East China Sea. Kyodo News said the statement was specifically aimed at China.
