Google, Facebook to build undersea Internet cable between LA and HK

Google and Facebook have announced plans to work with other companies to connect Los Angeles and Hong Kong with a high-capacity internet cable. The Pacific Light Cable Network will stretch for 12,800 kilometers beneath the Pacific Ocean. The infrastructure will provide the first ever direct connection between the two locations, helping the two companies carry enormous amount of data.
