Government Must Speed Up Chopper Scam Enquiry Says AK Antony

Former Union Defence Minister AK Antony on Thursday (April 28) said Government must speed up the CBI enquiry which we ordered, find out truth, middlemen and punish them. AgustaWestland’s Rs 3,600 crore contract for supplying 12 VVIP choppers to the IAF was scrapped by the UPA Government over charges of paying kickbacks to Indian agents. In January 2013, India cancelled the deal and the CBI was assigned to investigate the matter. CBI had in 2013 registered a case in connection with alleged bribes paid by the firm to Indians to clinch the deal for 12 helicopters to ferry VVIPs including the President and Prime Minister.
