Hainan Province raises duty-free shopping quota

Just ahead of the Chinese New Year shopping season, the duty-free quota for visitors to South China’s island province of Hainan will be raised. China has scrapped the curb on how many times you can buy at the vacation resort island in a year, but the total volume of purchases cannot be more than 16,000 yuan (around 2,400 US dollars). Shoppers were previously only allowed to buy twice a year for a maximum of 1,200 dollars per purchase.
