HC Asks BCCI to Shift IPL Matches Out of Maharashtra

The Bombay High Court has asked the BCCI to consider shifting of IPL matches out of Pune following severe drought conditions in the state. Earlier in the day, the BCCI told the court that sewage treated water would be supplied to stadiums in Mumbai and Pune for maintaining pitches in IPL matches. The judges also asked the board whether it can contribute to the Chief Minister’s drought relief fund. As the BCCI said it had supplied 40 lakh litres of water to stadiums per day for IPL tournaments so far, the judges asked whether it was ready to supply the same quantityto water-starved villages in and around Pune.
