As per media reports, during a book launch event yesterday Assam Governor courted controversy when he stated that Hindustan is only for hindus. This comment sparked off an outrage and the opposition called for his resignation. As the controversy mounted, the Governor tyring to clarify his stance said that he did not mean that Hindustan is for hindus only but that persecuted hindus have a right to seek shelter here as they can’t go anywhere else since this is the only land for them.
