Horse-riding gains popularity in Gaza strip

A first ever championship of horse-riding was held this week in the Gaza Strip.

The ability of the horse to jump and the talents of the riders are examined through the speed and the skill when they pass different stages.

Mohamed al-Tawil, director of the Equestrians Club, said that the sport has attracted many young people to take part and that 300 horse riders have already joined his club.

Horse riding is gaining popular in the Gaza Strip in recent years amid endless blockade and high rates of poverty.
