China’s central bank announced Tuesday it will improve its central parity system to better reflect market development in the exchange rate.
Following the change, the central parity rate of the Chinese currency renminbi, or Yuan, weakened sharply by nearly two percent against the U.S. dollar.
That pushed the currency to its lowest against the dollar in almost three years.
