Clash erupts between police and demonstrators who take to the streets of Chile’s central city Valparaiso on May 21 to protest against the government for its ongoing policies.
Barricades are broken, pharmacies looted and several premises set ablaze.
Fire hose is used against the protesters, as well as the buildings on fire.
One old man was choked to death in a burnt official mansion.
Earlier the day, President Michel Bachelet just delivers her annual speech about the government’s progress on matters like economy and education.
Bachelet presided over the country for the second time in 2014, with her current term extending to 2018.
