Hundreds suspected of having ties to ISIL detained

As the city of Fallujah was “fully liberated”, hundreds of local residents, who are suspected of having ties to the ISIL, have been detained for interrogation. According to Iraqi Interior Ministry spokesman Saad Maan, the detainees have been taken to a police directorate near Baghdad. He said that some of them “have confessed that they have ties to Daesh,” a derogatory acronym for the militant group. He said those who are confirmed to have ISIL ties will be dealt with in accordance to Iraqi law, while those who are innocent will be set free.
