Hypertension self-monitoring scheme shows encouraging results in first six months

A pilot initiative allowing hypertension patients to monitor their blood pressure level at home had shown encouraging results in its first six months. It was part of a series of initiatives by the Health Ministry and National Healthcare Group Polyclinics to help those with chronic diseases manage their conditions with the help of technology. One hundred and twenty participants were given Bluetooth blood pressure monitoring devices, which automatically sent readings to a team of doctors and nurses at the polyclinic. The pilot started at Ang Mo Kio Polyclinic in September 2018.

but may be rolled out to more polyclinics soon, pending evaluation.
