Iceland Prime Minister resigns over link to offshore account

Iceland’s Prime Minister Sigmundur David Gunnlaugsson has announced that he will resign following a series of leaked documents, dubbed as the Panama Papers, suggested that he and two other cabinet members have ties to offshore
companies. According to Iceland’s national broadcaster RUV, Gunnlaugsson will step down as prime minister but remain the chairman of the Progressive Party.
