Incredible stop motion promo video made from 300,000 pictures

Photography enthusiasts from Nanjing, capital of east China’s Jiangsu Province, made an incredible stop-motion promo video of the city from more than 300,000 pictures they filmed in the past year.

The 5-minute 18-second video shows the vigor and vitality of Nanjing, also known as Nanking, by displaying both historic sites and modern skylines in the ancient city, which is recognized as one of the Four Great Ancient Capitals of China.

Director of the film, 23-year-old Li Zitao, says the promo was a self-funded project aimed at manifesting a real and fast-growing China to the rest of the world.

Li says he and four others have snapped more than 300,000 pictures at nearly 40 popular landmarks of the city since early 2015. He quit his job in December so that he could focus on post-production of the film.

The video has won wide acclaim among residents in Nanjing, and has been dubbed as the city’s “most trendy promo video”.
