India pledges $250 million to help quake-hit Nepal

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday held talks with his Nepalese counterpart Khadga Prasad Sharma Oli and pledged 250 million US dollars to help rebuild quake-hit Nepal. Nearly 9,000 people were killed and almost a million houses and buildings were damaged in the 2015 Magnitude 8.1 earthquake and aftershocks in Nepal. The assistance is a part of the nine agreements signed by the two nations. The other deals covered housing, health, education and cultural heritage in some of the country’s worst affected area
