Indian president pays state visit to China

Indian President Pranab Mukherjee will arrive in China this afternoon, for a state visit until Friday. The trip is Mukherjee’s first state visit to China since he took office in 2012. He’ll first visit Guangzhou in southern China, where he will meet with Indian business people attending the China-India commercial forum in the city. He will then travel to Beijing, and meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping. Top on the agenda for his visit is deepening trade and economic cooperation, as well as attracting Chinese investment into India’s infrastructure.
