India’s Environment Secretary meets four state chief secretaries to discuss air pollution crisis

India’s Environment Secretary has met with four state chief secretaries from the northern states to discuss the pollution crisis. The air quality in New Delhi has improved, but remains in the “very unhealthy” category. Schools reopened on Nov 18 after a two-day closure. The Supreme Court has criticised the government for the over-pollution levels, and the government has said it will come up with an exhaustive plan to tackle the pollution.
