Indonesia’s consumer price index accelerated at a faster pace in June, as food prices picked up during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan. The national statistics bureau announced that annual inflation rose 3.49 percent in June from 3.33 percent in May. This is because food and transport demands regularly rise during Ramadan in the world’s largest Muslim country.
