Indonesia To Deport Chhota Rajan | Australia Keen On Joining Investigation

Indonesian authorities said on Monday (October 26) they will deport Chotta Rajan shortly after arresting the alleged organised crime boss on the Indonesian resort island of Bali. Rajendra Sadashiv Nikalje, known in India as “Chotta Rajan,” was on the Interpol’s most wanted list for two decades, said Bali police spokesman Heri Wiyanto. Wiyanto said that Rajan was arrested on Sunday after arriving at Bali’s airport from Sydney, based on a red notice from Interpol and following a tip from Australian authorities in Canberra. He said police were questioning Rajan in Bali police headquarter in Denpasar, the provincial capital, and coordinating with Indian diplomats for a deportation process. He held an Indian passport when he arrived in Denpasar, about 968 kilometres east of the Indonesian capital, Jakarta. “This man is suspected to have been involved in more than 20 murders in India,” said Wiyanto, “We will deport him this week.”
