Intermittent clashes erupt across Syria

A monitoring group in Syria has confirmed that intermittent shelling and clashes resumed across the country on Friday night, further testing the strained ceasefire agreement brokered by Russia and the United States. An initial 48-hour ceasefire came into force on Monday evening, but it was extended for another two days. However, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that fighting erupted near the capital Damascus, while several airstrikes hit towns in the province of Homs.
