International Women’s Day: Run to save mothers and children

About 2 million dollars was raised in the ‘Beyond Zero’ marathon led by the first lady of Kenya, Margaret Kenyatta ahead of the International women’s day. This is the third edition of the marathon that attracted over 35,000 participants including the first lady of Rwanda Jeannette Kagame. The marathon aims at achieving zero maternal and child deaths.

So far, the Beyond Zero Campaign has distributed 36 Mobile Clinics to 36 counties across the Country. Besides purchasing the remaining eleven fully kitted mobile clinics for an equal number of counties, the funds raised during the Sunday marathon will be used to refurbish hospital wards across the country and also ensure all the mobile clinics remain functional and in good shape.
