Delhi Police is likely to file an appeal in High Court against the acquittal of those charged by it in the 2013 IPL spot fixing case, said Special CP S N Srivastava today. According to the sources, the review plea has to be filed by August 25. Sources say that the Police will be filing the appeal on the grounds that the Supreme Court had appreciated the evidence collected by it and that the probe details had been assessed by two Commissions of enquiry, one by Justice Mudgal and another by Justice Lodha. A trial court on July 25 had discharged all 36 accused including cricketers S Sreesanth, Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan in the 2013 IPL spot-fixing case, citing that there was no evidence against them.
