Speaking on the IPL verdict by Justice RM Lodha, Justice Mukul Mudgal today said that the punishment is exemplary, strong and sends a strong message. “I think the verdict is extraordinarily strong, it awards exemplary punishment and yet it stays within the realm of the Supreme Court order and rules of the IPL and BCCI so it is a legal order and it will go a long way in cleansing the game of cricket,” said Justice Mudgal. When asked if it help repose the faith of public in the IPL, he said, “Public faith will be restored after this kind of an order because public now knows that however higher a person may be action can be taken against him.” Justice RM Lodha while pronouncing the punishment for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) official Gurunath Meiyappan and Rajasthan Royals co-owner Raj Kundra for being involved in betting in IPL 2013 today said Gurunath Meiyappan, Raj Kundra are suspended for life from being involved in activities related to any type of cricket matches.
