IPS officer Amitabh Thakur, who was allegedly threatened by Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Sing Yadav, today met MHA officials in New Delhi, seeking protection for himself and his wife. Aditi Yes

“I met Anant Kumar Singh, Additional Secretary of Ministry of Home Affairs, seeking protection for me and my wife Nutan Thakur as we have been threatened by Mulayam Singh of dire consequences,” he said. The IPS officer said that he has also requested for a CBI probe into the whole matter. Describing the sequence of events he said, “My wife, who is an RTI activist, complained to the Lokayukta against state minister Gayatri Prasad Prajapati. After which, Mulayam Singh threatened me over the phone of dire consequences.” He also accused Prajapati and Mulayam Singh of conspiring against him and framing in false rape case. “After Mulayam Singh threatened me, a woman filed rape case against me. This indeed was done at their behest,” he asserted.
