Iran demands apology from Saudi Arabia

Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Sunday demanded Saudi Arabia apologize for the Hajj stampede that killed nearly 770 pilgrims on Thursday, with at least 144 of them being Iranian nationals. Khamenei said that the Saudis should accept responsibility and apologize to the global Muslim community and the bereaved families. Iranian leaders also questioned whether Riyadh was fit to continue organizing the annual pilgrimage.
