South Korea’s President Park Geun-hye has met Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Monday in Tehran. Earlier in the day, Park also held talks with her Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani, discussing the Korean Peninsula and ways of promoting bilateral ties. The two countries have signed 19 cooperation agreements to boost ties in diverse areas, and decided to triple their annual trade volume to 18 billion US dollars. Based on the agreement, they will cooperate in maritime transportation and relevant infrastructure. The agreements also cover cooperation in the energy industry, petrochemicals, finance, tourism, infrastructure construction, education, technology, health and insurance.
