Iraqi government forces and their allies are getting ready in the eastern outskirts of Mosul ahead of a push to expel ISIL from the city. Iraqi officials say the campaign may begin this month and will involve around 30,000 troops, including US air-power, Kurdish forces, and Shi’ite and Sunni militias. The campaign aims to end the jihadists’ two-year hold of Mosul.
