Two suicide bombers have attacked a police station west of Baghdad, leaving two security personnel dead and eight others wounded. The incident occurred just one day after three car bombs, for which Islamic State claimed responsibility, killed at least 94 people in Baghdad. Baghdad-based US Major General Gary Volesky said the bombings are “desperate acts” by Islamic State, carried out because they have been losing ground. But Iraqi analysts say a political crisis and party division are the major causes of the violence.
